Amazon Will Raise the Price of its Annual Prime Membership by $20 to $119

Effective May 11th, Amazon will increase the price of its annual Prime Membership by $20 to $119. The announcement came after Amazon announced huge earnings and growth across the board in the 1st quarter.

The company is attributing the increase to a spike in its service costs. Just last week, Amazon announced that it had more than 100 million prime members globally.

This announcement comes just 3 months after they increased the price of their monthly membership by $2 to $12.99.

Existing Prime Members will have until June 16th to renew at the current $99/year price.

Student memberships will increase to $59 per year.

Medicaid or EBT cardholders can have Prime for only $5.99/month

Amazon Prime Members receive:

  • Free 2 day shipping or less on millions of products
  • Access to Prime Video
  • Prime Music
  • Unlimited Photo Storage
  • & Much More
