Amazon Household Accounts: The Smart Way to Max Out Coupons and Deals [Perfect for Spouses, Roommates & Family Members]

Amazon Household (now often called Amazon Family) is one of the most underrated ways to save money without paying for a second Prime membership.

Amazon Family lets two adults share one Prime membership while keeping their accounts completely separate.

Benefits:

  • One Prime membership, two adult accounts
  • Each account has its own login, cart, and private order history
  • Coupon Doubling: This is the big one. Many Amazon coupons are “Limit 1 per customer.” With a Household, you can redeem the coupon on both accounts.
  • Max Out Quantity Limits: If a hot deal limits you to, lets say, 3 per person, you can grab 3 on your account and 3 on the other.
  • Share Prime Video, Reading, Music, and even free GrubHub+ on both accounts.

How to Set Up Your Amazon Family Account:

  1. Go to the Amazon Family page

  2. Click ‘Manage your Amazon Family’ or ‘Add a Member’

  3. Enter the name and email address of the person you want to add (we recommend they create a free Amazon account first before being invited)

  4. Your household member will receive an email. Once they click “Get Prime Benefits” and sign in, the accounts are linked

Pro Tip: If we post a deal that requires clipping a coupon and it doesn’t appear on your account, check the other Household account — it will most likely show up there.

If you and your spouse are still sharing a single login, you’re capping your savings potential. By splitting into two separate accounts under one Amazon Household, you don’t lose anything — you only stand to gain.
