This rivalry between Amazon and Walmart has continued with Amazon making the latest moves. We wrote about Amazon Wardrobe earlier in the week where Amazon Prime Members will get 7 days to try on their clothing orders before deciding to buy it.
We also wrote about Amazon’s Rewards/Discounts for selecting No Rush Shipping as opposed to free 2 day shipping. While it was a nice little discount, it was nowhere near the huge pickup in-store discount that Walmart was offering. Until Today.
Amazon has [to our knowledge] debuted a huge discount on select items if ‘Free No Rush Shipping’ is selected.
For example, this Cap Barbell Weight Lifting 2-Inch Solid Power Squat Olympic Bar is selling for $191.97 but Amazon will give you an $84.29 discount for checking out with Free No Rush Shipping.
Alternatively, Walmart is selling this Olympic Bar for $191.97 with only a $9.79 Pickup Discount.
This rivalry has existed for years but this back & forth between them in 2017 is something the online marketplace has never seen before.
And oh yeah, eBay doesn’t want you to forget about them as they announced earlier this week that they will begin Price Matching top retailers including Amazon & Walmart in an effort to stay somewhat competitive with them.
