A few weeks ago, Target announced it was going to offer free two day shipping on all orders with no minimum through December 22nd. This was followed a week later by Best Buy who similarly offered free shipping on all orders through December 24th. Now, Amazon is countering both those moves by offering free shipping on all orders for everyone til the end of the year. Normally, non-prime members have to spend $25 to get free shipping at Amazon. This free shipping promotion begins today, November 5th and will likely run through the last week of December as Amazon didn’t announce an end date for this promotion. The free shipping promotion will exclude add-on items.
From the Amazon Press Release:
This holiday season Amazon is giving customers even more convenient and faster delivery options. Starting today, November 5, and for a limited time, all Amazon customers can enjoy free shipping with no minimum purchase amount on orders that will arrive in time for the holiday. This offer applies to hundreds of millions of items – the largest free shipping selection in the country.
If you’re asking what’s in it for Prime Members since the main benefit of Prime is the free shipping. Amazon said it would expand the free same day delivery for Prime Members and that 60 cities can now receive delivery in as little as an hour from Whole Foods Market through Prime Now.
