Amazon to Raise Price of Monthly Prime Membership by $2 to $12.99/Month

In an effort to get people locked into Prime for a full year instead of the month to month convenience many people prefer, Amazon will increase monthly Prime membership by $2 to $12.99. The increase will go into effect beginning February 1st.

The yearly membership of $99 will remain the same. One of the biggest differences between the monthly and annual memberships is that monthly subscribers don’t get full access to Prime Video.

The cost for students will increase to $6.49 a month and Prime Video will now be $8.99

Yearly Membership to Amazon Prime was already a huge bargain for online shoppers and will now be even more valuable given the monthly price increase.
