Amazon Quietly Introduces Final Sale Items — Here’s What You Need to Know Before You Buy

Amazon has quietly begun labeling select items as Final Sale, marking a major shift from their traditionally generous return policy. For years, shoppers have bought with the confidence that most products could be easily returned. But now, some listings are clearly marked as non-refundable and non-exchangeable — a first for the retail giant.

When Amazon flags an item as Final Sale, a red “Final Sale” banner appears above the price. It also states “Final Sale – no returns allowed” in the Returns section, located just below where it says the item is sold and shipped by Amazon. Additionally, the same red warning reappears in your cart, serving as a final reminder before purchase (see images below for reference).

To help you avoid surprises, we’ll do our best to notate Final Sale deals in our posts. That said, you should always be on the lookout when making your own purchases — especially since this policy is still new and inconsistently applied. Don’t assume items are returnable just because they’re sold by Amazon. Always double check the listing for a Final Sale banner or return restrictions before checking out.

    • “Final Sale” usually means you can’t return the item if you simply change your mind. But if it arrives damaged, Amazon will typically still offer a refund or replacement.
