✈️ Have a Flight Coming Up? Thinking of Booking a Flight? Here’s an Airline by Airline Update of their Cancellation and Change Policy

Alaska Airlines:

  • Alaska is waiving all change and cancel fees on all bookings made thru September 8th. If you cancel, you will receive flight credit for future use. Fare difference will apply (if applicable) for flight changes
  • Face coverings are required for all travelers over 12

American Airlines:

  • American Airlines will waive change fees on existing and new tickets for summer travel through September 30, 2020.
    • Fare difference will apply (if applicable) for flight changes
    • If you rebook, travel must be completed by December 31, 2021.
  • For new tickets booked between now and September 8, 2020, they’ll waive change fees for travel October 1, 2020, and later.

Delta:

  • Delta is waiving change fees for travel impacted by coronavirus, including any flights departing March through December 31, 2020 and all tickets purchased between March 1 – August 31, 2020. Fare difference will apply (if applicable) for flight changes

Frontier:

  • Bookings made between July 2, 2020 and July 31, 2020 will be permitted a one-time change to travel plans without a fee, when the change is made 7 or more days prior to departure.
  • When you cancel, you will retain the value less the applicable cancel fee as a travel credit for use within 90 days of cancellation. You don’t have to travel within 90 days, but you do have to book using your credit within 90 days.

JetBlue:

  • JetBlue is waiving all change and cancel fees on all bookings made thru September 8th.
    • If you need to change your flight, you can do so for free but pay any fare differences between the original flight and the one you’re changing to.
    • If you need to cancel your flight altogether, they’ll credit the amount in the form of a travel credit for flights.
  • Face coverings are required for all travelers
  • They’re also blocking the sale of all middle seats on large aircrafts and aisle seats on smaller aircrafts to provide some additional space between passengers.

Southwest:

  • Southwest is waiving all change and cancel fees on all bookings
  • If you change your flight, fare difference will apply (if applicable).

Spirit Airlines:

  • Spirit is waiving change and cancellation fees for Guests who book travel by Friday, July 31st 2020.
  • Fare difference will apply (if applicable) for flight changes
  • If you cancel your flight, you will receive a full purchase price reservation credit instantly.
  • Spirit requires appropriate face coverings during travel

United:

  • United is waiving all change and cancel fees on all bookings made thru August 31st. If you cancel, you will have 24 months to use your credit. If you change your flight, fare difference will apply (if applicable).
  • Face coverings are required for all travelers

  1. Flew back and forth from NJ and Fort Lauderdale 2 weeks ago and I’ve never seen such empty planes and airports before.
